Rwamagana

The District of Rwamagana was established by law in January 2006. It is one of the seven districts that make up the Eastern Province, and it also hosts the provincial headquarters.

The Rwamagana District is composed of the former Muhazi District, the former Bicumbi District, two sectors that previously belonged to Gasabo District (Fumbwe and Mununu), and three sectors that previously belonged to Kabarondo (Kaduha, Rweru, and Nkungu), together with the former Town of Rwamagana.
